Folding Bread Proofer and Yogurt Maker

Brod & Taylor Folding Proofer--Great!
I have been using my Brod & Taylor folding proofer for about a Month. I didn't expect it to be one of those tools I couldn't live without, but it is. Now that we are moving into the cool months here in the Midwest, my kitchen is around 63F in the morning. I prepare my dough or preferment the night before and it is perfectly bubbling away at the perfect temperature when I get up. I love the way I can set my temperature for the desired dough temperature on a preferment or dough and keep an eye on it through the clear window on top.

I bake artisan style breads and sourdough all the time. This is quickly becoming a tool I couldn't do without.

My wife likes that it easily folds and is stored in a cabinet within a few easy seconds. She also likes to make yogurt in it with the stable temperature setting at 115F.

Highly recommend this product.

Wonderful !
I purchased this about a month ago. I'm long time bread baker and I'm good at it. But even bread won't forgive uneven rising temps, no humidity, etc. It will rise, but not as perfectly as you'd like.

No more rigging the microwave with cups of hot water and all the other things I've used.

This baby works . No need to cover the bread, water in the proofer pan gives the right amount of humidity. Every loaf rises consistently. Everything I've made is either a little bit better or a lot better. It's bigger than you think. I oil the Kitchenaid bowl and plunk it in there. One less thing to clean. Plenty of room for multiple loaves. I have made yoghurt . I like the Greek style. I can get it thick without turning tart in the proofer. I haven't tried it for chocolate yet.

And it folds flat and tucks away nicely. It's really good for getting dough that has been refrigerated up yto temp.

If you love to bake really great bread, sticky...

For once the only choice works.
First off, there are no other "portable proofing ovens". At least not that I can find.

Second, without it I wouldn't be baking bread except at Christmas. We live in a centrally heated home, like the vast majority of people in the industrialized world and there just isn't a place in our house to have 75 to 80 degrees at high humidity. And it seems foolish to raise the house temperature just to raise bread. Sure, heat the oven to 200 and hope it works. Turn on the bathroom heater and hold the bathroom for four hours at 80 degrees and don't forget to keep the humidifier going. And don't forget the eighty quart picnic cooler with the boiling water in the bottom. Sure, these ideas all work. I build furniture as a hobby, I could build a proofing oven. And store it in the attic.

Enter the Brod & Taylor Folding Proofer. I now bake all our bread. When I set up for baking in our kitchen setting up the proofer is just one of the number of parts to my routine. It works just...

Haier HLP21N Pulsator 1-Cubic-Foot Portable Washer

the sounds of this washer.

Terrific little washer!
I recently purchased this, though not from this vendor. My living space is on the top floor and the laundry area is down 2 winding flights of stairs. Someone suggested that if I could do laundry without having it pile up, my life would be easier. So now, this is the first week I have had this installed. Admittedly, I never have overly high expectations of machinery, but I am more than happy with this.

The instructions for the washer are fairly detailed. I ran into trouble over the sink hook-up, just because I did not understand standard terminology. When a friend came in to help, it took him all of 15 minutes (or less). Everything was tightened with a wrench, plus he tied the two hoses (in and out) with a fastener to position them securely. I ran the first load 5 minutes later. No leaks, in spite of what you might have read in other reviews of the same product.

I am not a big person and tonight, the load (at medium, the default setting) was:
1 pair of long...

We love this machine!
I purchased this washer from Target through Amazon last month and I couldn't be more pleased with it. I have been reading the reviews of these the little Haier washers for several months so I was prepared for how the bottom plate works (it bulges out), for the fact that we would struggle a bit getting the screws through the plate and that we needed teflon tape and good pliers to really tighten the hose connections. We were very careful in doing all that and we have no leaks and no odd noises. The sink adapter fit my sink perfectly so I didn't have to find a replacement. All and all, the set-up was easier than I expected.

As far as using it goes, the loads are larger than I thought they would be, the clothes come out very clean and well spun out so they dry quickly. The controls are easy to understand and so far everything has worked as it is supposed to. Our household has three members, myself and two teenagers and so far it is keeping up with us and sparing us the hideous...

DBTech Electric Egg Cooker - With Automatic Shut off an Buzzer to notify you when the eggs are ready

How well it cooks depends on how you measure the water; it works great for us
I like this cooker better than the ones I've used in the past (I have chickens so, trust me, an egg cooker is needed) because I can cook more at a time.

My husband would pour in water and then say he was not happy with the results but each time I used it, it was perfect. So I asked him to do it in front of me. He got some water, poured it in, and turned it on...AHA! So let me share how this works. When the water boils out, the eggs are done. If you don't measure your water and you put in too much, it will keep cooking, if you don't put in enough it will turn off early. The water isn't there just to steam, it also regulates when it's time to turn itself off.

So USE the measuring cup enclosed correctly and you should have flawless eggs.

That said, those of us with very fresh eggs know how hard they can be too peel if you simply boil them. This takes away that issue. The steaming rather than boiling makes for a better boiled egg that is perfectly easy...

Awesome egg cooker (Directions listed) ...
I was really leery of this egg cooker because I saw so many negative comments. Some, on the other hand, raved over the quality of the eggs. So which was it? The problem, as I soon discovered was the quality of the directions, or lack of them. Clarity in this case can make a BIG difference as to how those eggs turn out. I pored over them and took a close look at everything. It was one of those "here goes nothing" moments and that's what I expected. Nothing. Well, I put in four eggs because I thought a little egg salad lunch would be nice and voilà ... it was. I'll try to give you some directions in the form of FAQs and hints that might make your egg experience much easier.

FAQs

Q: Why do I have to put MORE water in when I am cooking fewer eggs?

A: If you think about it, think in terms of the area inside your egg cooker. If you are cooking two eggs the steam has to cover a wider area, therefore you need more water. More eggs, you need...

A good boiler so far
This is an effective egg boiler. You can choose "hard boiled", "half-hard boiled" and "soft boiled" by adding different amount of water by its small cup! It works fast. I didn't calculate the exact time for boiling 2-3 eggs but 5-8 minutes will be enough. There's also a small bowl which is very cute. I never used it but it seems enough to heat soup for one person. Just one thing is its alarm is a bit loud and I can't use is in early morning when my roommate is still sleeping. Hopefully it can last for long. Love it so far.

Replacement Wicking Filter for Air Humidifier MA0800

Does the job but not the right size
This filter is hard to find, as the other reviewers state. It does not come ring shaped. Rather, it is shipped flat, with a couple of folds. You have to reshape it to fit in the humidifier.
Also, it is a tad small. You cannot form a complete ring with it. That probably reduces the dust reduction factor of the humidifier, which is one of advertised factors in the listing ("virtually eliminates dust").

However, since the original filter that came with the humidifier was a perfect ring of the perfect size, the customer is being short changed with this product. There seems to be no alternative to it, however.

Update: I recently (Mar 24) purchased two MAF-2 Essick Filters at homedepot.com less expensive and exactly the right shape and size. Fit easily into the humidifier just like the original one. So, I would say, get this only if the homedepot one isn't available.

Filter Quality and Prices
If you want your humidifier filters to last longer, then use filtered water and an additive to the water to prevent bacteria, as well as mineral build up. We use Golden Solution Combination by Vista Solutions. And if you want to pay a much cheaper price for these filters, go to Lowe's and look for IDYLIS Universal filters. They are currently $8.98 each. We have an Essick Moist Air Humidifier model 12010, and these filters fit fine, though they are boxed flat and have to be shaped...

Hard to get nowadays
Unfortunately, I can;t get the filter in the local stores any longer. However, this buy was essentially fair priced, and filter works as usual. I like the humidifier, so I like this filter to help me keeping it running.

LG Electronics 5231JA2002A Refrigerator Replacement Cartridge Water Filter

Quick shipping and did the job!
Item came quickly and it did the job. If you have an LG, this is the correct product to ensure proper water flow. I had purchased from another vendor a filter that said 'premium' in red which reduced the flow to minimal and we had to stand there for what seemed like ages to get a cup of water. This filter solved the problem and we can now spend our time doing other things besides standing by the fridge. Thanks!

da bomb
Can you actually ever get excited about a water filter? You kidding me? Really? Whatever- It does the job. Peace out

works great
water taste good I had the LG filter and that stopped working after 3 days. this one I know it will last me 6 months.

Keurig® Mini Plus Personal Coffee Brewer -Turquoise Aqua

Keurig Mini
I love this! It is just what I was looking for. I was sold when I saw that I could get one in something besides boring black. Plus it's much smaller than the traditional so it takes up much less counter space! I have been recommending it to many people!

Colors are more fun!
Love the color! Good for a couple or a single person. Fun to have the bright color on my countertop

Love the Mini!
As my first Keurig, I am so impressed by the Mini Plus! I only drink about 1-2 cups of coffee and this perfect for a college student, like myself, but it would be great for anybody! It only takes a couple minutes to make my coffee, which is so much faster than my old coffee maker! I LOVE the colors that this comes in and it was definitely a good investment.

Proctor Silex Sandwich Toaster

Brings me back to my college days
I used to have one of these back in college, ate them all the time, until I graduated and chucked mine out...regretted it to this day so I got another.

We have a foreman - makes great panini but these sandwich makers are one of a kind and can't be replicated in any other machine.

It's for sure a unitasker
You can't use pepridge farm loaves - the slices are too big, think of generic white bread size and you're in luck. Big slices will hang off the side and not give you the perfect triangles you need. You can cut bread to size but that's a lot of work.

you don't need to lube the machine (it's non stick, and you don't need to butter the outside of the bread) - that's just added calories

Suggestions:
I buy a GIANT bag (talking costco size) of mexican cheese blend
Faves: Pepperoni & Cheese
Ham & Cheese
Hot Dog and Cheese
Salami and Cheese
Peanut Butter Sandwiches (I have an aversion to jam/jellys/marmalade) so...

Buy something else - the nonstick coating doesn't last
I was forced to break the lock button on the very first use! The actual toasting is pretty decent. However, with the very first use, the lock button wouldn't release. I actually had to insert a knife to pry the halves apart, which broke the lock. The unit still works. Very, very disappointing, Proctor Silex.

Update: after perhaps a few dozen uses, the non-stick coating (along one dividing edge) has now started to wear off. Because these flakes are potentially carcinogenic when carcinogenic, into the garbage the sandwich maker has gone. How utterly disappointing, P S.

Button Stuck
I received mine in the mail yesterday and was excited but I couldn't get the button on to open the sandwich maker. It was either stuck or defective as my husband couldn't open it either. I am returning mine today.
