8 mm belt works for both 8mm and 10 mm Dyson DC17 motors
I wasn't 100 % sure that our Dyson DC17 needed the 10 mm belt, and had read on this site that if you get an 8mm it will work for 8 and 10 mm, but that 10mm won't fit an 8mm motor. We got the 8mm, and even though it is smaller (thinner) than our 10mm motor pulley, it fits and works just great!
Is a real workhorse!
When it comes to wear and tear on vacuums I think that with 2 child, two dogs and the regular traffic of dozens of people for meetings, fellowship, and studying we have a tough environment for a vacuum. Of course, it's the weakest link that's going to break in any machine and invariably that's the belt. I was cautious about buying a belt since there were so many mixed reviews out there. Ultimately, I took the plunge and figured that these were so inexpensive that I would risk it. That was about a year ago and I am still very pleased. We are still on the first belt we bought. It fit in snugly, was easy to install, and seems to actually work better than it did before I changed belts. Additionally, It runs smoother and quieter than ever before. If I knew what an improvement it would have made on our 4-year-old vacuum, I would have changed it out shortly after buying the vacuum. Unless you have an extraordinarily old Dyson you can be confident in this belt.
It works
Nothing special here but it works. I ordered this as a replacement for my Dyson Animal. It appeared to be the same as the OEM that had worn out.
